Data Specifications for Single Data Return
These data specifications provide detailed guidance including new and changed data requirements. They are to be used for Indicative (IND) and SDR returns. Note: Data specifications for 2024 and earlier were contained in SDR Manuals published on the Ministry of Education website.

Reference data for SDR data specifications
The reference data lists values for specific fields referred to in the Data Specifications. Reference data is aligned to the Stats NZ definitions (where possible). Note: Data classifications for 2024 and earlier were in the SDR Manual Appendices published on the Ministry of Education website.
