PBRF Sector Reference Group - Consultation now open on Individual Researcher Circumstances and Staff Identification
The PBRF Sector Reference Group (SRG) is consulting on Individual Researcher Circumstances and staff identification settings for Quality Evaluation 2025. You can access the consultation paper on the TEC website.
This is the first of two papers on Individual Researcher Circumstances, and looks at qualifying criteria for New and Emerging researchers and for Extraordinary Circumstances, as well as taking account of the impact of COVID-19 and ensuring that the right processes are in place around staff ethnicity declarations. The second Individual Researcher Circumstances paper will focus on submission requirements and/or assessment processes for EPs submitted by New and Emerging staff or staff with eligible Extraordinary Circumstances.
At its meeting on 29 April 2022, the SRG agreed a set of options for how to implement changes in each of these areas. The Group now seeks feedback on these options.
The consultation period for this paper is 6 May – 2 June 2022. Feedback may be submitted via the online survey.
Feedback on this consultation will be considered by the SRG in June and recommendations made to the TEC.
Please note, to ensure the final Guidelines are completed on time the period for consultation on SRG papers will be four weeks. The updated consultation schedule is available on the TEC website, and updates including consultation outcomes will be made regularly.
The SRG is operating between September 2021 and the publication of the final Quality Evaluation 2025 Guidelines in June 2023. Information on the 2025 Quality Evaluation and the SRG is available on the TEC website.
