After reviewing the submissions received in consultation, the Minister of Education has determined that from 1 January 2020 the AMFM will be set at 2%, with an additional 2% permitted for those who successfully apply for an exception.

A notice about the proposed increase, including the process for allowing exceptions to the AMFM, was published in the New Zealand Gazette.
