The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) has released its Plan Guidance for tertiary education organisations (TEOs) submitting Investment Plans for funding from 1 January 2024.
Plan Guidance gives providers information about what we look for in an Investment Plan and how we will assess it. This is key guidance for providers on how their Investment Plan should align with our investment priorities, including those set out in the Tertiary Education Strategy (TES).
Currently, we have large groups of learners who are underserved by the tertiary education system. They face barriers that prevent them from participating in or successfully completing their tertiary study. We need to work together to change that by making a whole system shift to a more equitable and learner-success driven tertiary education system.
This year’s Plan Guidance and the Investment Toolkit provides information and templates to help TEOs tell us how their organisation is progressing to achieve equity.
We want to understand how providers are honouring Te Tiriti through partnerships and provision. Our funding will be strategically prioritised to deliver for learners, employers, industry and communities. Priorities for these stakeholders are informed by the Tertiary Education Strategy, wider government goals, and advice from industry and regional partners such as Ohu Ahumahi Workforce Development Councils and Regional Skills Leadership Groups.
TEOS with any questions on the Plan Guidance should contact their Relationship Managers or call our Customer Contact Group on 0800 601 301.
