The Accelerating Learner Success Fund (Tūwhitia) supports initiatives focused on accelerating learner success in tertiary education and training. It aims to improve outcomes for learners, particularly underserved learners across the system.

The purpose of the Accelerating Learner Success Fund (Tūwhitia) is to make targeted investments in learner success initiatives to:

  • increase the likelihood of tertiary education organisations (TEOs) successfully implementing initiatives
  • accelerate initiatives so that more learners benefit earlier
  • broaden the scope of initiatives so that more learners can be positively impacted, and
  • reduce cost barriers for TEOs.

Funding available

The Fund has up to $5 million available for the 2023/24 financial year, and up to $10 million in each subsequent year to support the acceleration of existing learner success initiatives.
