Be part of the work to establish the industry leading voice in vocational education. Te Whakahou i te Mātauranga Ahumahinga, the Reform of Vocational Education (RoVE), is the largest vocational education transformation our generation has seen.
One of the significant milestones is the formation of six new Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) which will enable industry to have a greater leadership role in vocational education.
An Expressions of Interest process (EOI) has been launched to seek interest from industry leaders who want to be on nomination and appointment committees. This process is running concurrently with the legislative process to formally establish the WDCs as legal entities.
The nomination and appointment committees will play a critical role in recommending and appointing new members into WDC governance councils. Te Tiriti o Waitangi is a key consideration in the formation of these governance councils, and will underpin both vocational education strategy and approach.
Expressions of Interest are sought for roles on these committees across the following WDCs:
Nomination Committees
- Creative, Cultural, Recreation and Technology WDC
- Primary Industries WDC
Appointment Committees
- Construction and Infrastructure WDC
- Health, Community and Social Services WDC
- Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics WDC
The Services WDC governance council appointments process does not require a nomination or appointment committee to be appointed.
Expressions of Interest for the WDC governance council member roles will be coming soon. Please note: those that intend to apply for a permanent WDC governance council role, when advertised, should not apply for appointment to the nomination or appointment committee for that WDC.
