Updated application form for New Zealand Apprenticeships
Updated application form for New Zealand Apprenticeships
The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) has updated the New Zealand Apprenticeship (NZA) application form.
The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) has updated the New Zealand Apprenticeship (NZA) application form.
The Government is currently funding apprenticeships through a number of initiatives including the Targeted Training and Apprenticeships Fund and the Apprenticeship Boost. We have taken the opportunity to review and update our apprenticeship approval processes, for both NZAs and Managed Apprenticeships (apprenticeships arranged and delivered by education providers).
We recently created a new application process for Managed Apprenticeships and we are aligning the application process for NZAs with the Managed Apprenticeship process.
The updated application form is designed to provide clarity on the full application process and enable faster assessment and approval of NZA programmes. The form also aligns with the existing approval processes for NZAs arranged by transitional Industry Training Organisations (ITOs).
What has changed on the NZA application form
The format has changed from an Excel document to a Word document to ensure ease of completion.
We ask two straightforward questions about the content and need for the programme.
We require declarations to be signed when submitting the form.
NZA application process
There are no changes in the existing processes and requirements to obtain approval from us for funding, and to obtain approval from New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) for New Zealand Apprenticeships.
For NZA programmes, transitional ITOs are required to obtain:
- Phase 1 pre-approval from the TEC
- Programme approval from NZQA and
- Phase 2 approval from the TEC following receipt of NZQA programme approval.
