The TEC board approved the transition plans for the Transitional ITOs (TITOs) Competenz and Connexis.  These will be the first two of the eleven TITOs to be transitioned.

The transition plan covers the transfer of Arranging Training, Skills Standards Activities and Apprenticeship Training Activities to providers and Workforce Development Councils (WDCs).

Providers, who can include Te Pūkenga, private training establishments (PTEs) and wānanga, will be able to support work-based training as well as delivering education and training in classroom and online settings. This will enable learners, including work-based learners such as trainees and apprentices, to move seamlessly through the vocational education system.

Competenz and Connexis will be transferring their training activities in August and September respectively, and skills standards activities in October, once WDCs become operational.

Over the next few months we will be working with both Competenz and Connexis, and the receiving organisations, to ensure the transitions are a success.  We will continue working with, and supporting, the nine remaining TITOs as they develop their transition plans for submission to the TEC Board for approval.
