Q. Can my organisation apply for the PTE Targeted Assistance Fund if we are also applying for this funding?
A. Yes, if you meet the eligibility criteria for the PTE Targeted Assistance Fund. The criteria will be published on the TEC website shortly.

Q. Is there a limit in the amount of funding my organisation can apply for each ESOL programme?
A. The PTE ESOL Provision Fund is a competitive fund with a limited amount of funding available for eligible organisations. The TEC will make funding decisions based on our assessment criteria which includes the number of learners proposed and the associated cost of programme delivery.

Q. My organisation receives TEC funding in 2020, are we eligible to apply?
A. Yes. So long as your organisation was not TEC funded in 2019, and meets the other eligibility criteria of the fund, it is eligible to apply for funding.

Q. My organisation has a Category 2 External Evaluation and Review rating, are we eligible to apply?
A. No. Only organisations with a Category 1 External Evaluation and Review rating from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as at 1 July 2020 are eligible to apply for the PTE ESOL funding.

Q. If my organisation has more learners than expected, can we apply for additional funding?
A. PTE ESOL Provision Fund funding is only available through the application round. There is currently no plan to run an additional funding round in the future; however, if this changes we will let the sector know.

Q. If my organisation is not able to deliver to the proposed number of learners in my application, will we be penalised?
A. If you under-deliver at the end of the funding period (30 June 2021), TEC will recover any unused funding. You also have the option to re-distribute your proposed ESOL provision within the funding allocated to you during the period of funding. Please contact us if you wish to do so.
