Our organisational strategy is to ensure the tertiary education system can respond to change and continue to improve outcomes for learners and industry.

Our organisational strategy is focused on two core functions, Champion and Invest.

Our Champion focus is about building strong connections from education to employment, and promoting and enabling lifelong career development and pathway planning.

Our Invest focus is made up of two parts:

  • Invest funding
  • manage performance.

The strategy is supported by three enablers, Knowledge, Partnership and People.

  • Knowledge/Mōhiotanga: We strive to have the right tools and information to support good decisions on where and how to invest.
  • Partnership/Mahi Ngātahi: We build strong partnerships to achieve our organisational goals. We have a wide pool of partners including other government agencies, Tertiary Education Organisations and their peak bodies, employers and industry bodies, schools and Communities of Learning, and various Māori, Pasifika and other iwi and community groups.
  • People/Tāngata: We build internal capability by attracting, retaining and training high-quality staff.
