We are seeking experienced directors for consideration as Ministerial appointees for the governance of institutes of technology and polytechnics (ITPs).

The Minister for Tertiary Education, Employment and Skills is due to make appointments at many of New Zealand’s 16 ITPs, which would be effective from 1 May 2017. Appointments will be for a term of up to four years.

We manage the appointment process on behalf of the Minister and invite expressions of interest by 1 February.

“This is an opportunity for people with governance skills to contribute to the leadership of our tertiary sector and institutions that provide the education and skills for a prosperous New Zealand,” says Julia Kennedy, Principal Advisor, TEC’s Monitoring and Crown Ownership.

“It would also be useful for appointees to have strong financial skills as the Government invests almost $600 million each year across the ITP sector, which has institutions with annual revenue ranging from $24 million to $154 million.”

Expressions of interest, CVs and enquiries can be sent to Julia Kennedy or Erin Keyworth at or call Julia on 04 462 5213 and Erin on 04 462 5206.
