Some of our staff put their best “foot” forward this week in support of international not-for-profit organisation Dress for Success.

This is the second Shoesday we have held at TEC and the parade of shoes – from sparkly to extremely high to downright outrageous – drew lots of laughter and admiring glances.

While it was mainly our female staff who strutted their stuff, some male staff were turning heads with colourful socks.

“It’s been a bit stressful here in Wellington after the big shake, so I wanted to create a bit of fun for everyone and do some good at the same time. Shoesdays are a fun way to support Dress for Success. We asked people to donate good quality, used clothing, shoes and accessories on Shoesday too. We’ve got bags of stuff to drop off to the charity,” said Shoesday organiser Laura Feasey from our HR team.

Dress for Success Shoesday at TECFounded in New York in 1997, Dress for Success has helped nearly 750,000 women globally to pursue their career aspirations.

The charity helps disadvantaged women into the workforce by offering donated clothes and personal-grooming advice. It also provides a network of support and career development tools.
