Educational performance of institutes of technology and polytechnics
In 2016 we allocated funding to 16 institutes of technology and polytechnics (ITPs).
In 2016 we allocated funding to 16 institutes of technology and polytechnics (ITPs).
The following tables show how the Tertiary Education Strategy (TES) groups – Māori and Pasifika learners, and at-risk young people – performed in 2014, 2015 and 2016 compared to all students at ITPs (for Student Achievement Component (SAC) funding and Youth Guarantee (YG) funding).

Note: Qualification completion rates can be affected by increases or decreases in enrolments which can result in variability in the reported performance between years.
What data have we excluded?
If an organisation is funded for less than five equivalent full-time students (EFTS), we don’t report educational performance indicators (EPIs) results. This is to ensure that individual students are not identified.
If an organisation has fewer than 30 EFTS at a particular level of study, we don’t report EPI results for that level, so that any comparison of rates is based on statistically robust sample sizes.
